Natural Vitamins
Food Based Vitamins
Natural vitamins or food based vitamins are the necessary form our bodies require. We
are designed to absorb our nutrients from the foods we eat. Our modern diet consists of processed foods,
fruits and vegetables that are harvested before they ripen and just plain artificial foods. In order to
artificially ripen produce, they are subjected to gasses, chemicals and colorings to make the foods appear
ripened.
Food additives like preservatives, artificial flavorings, colorings and such destroy some of the
nutrition of our foods. In the case of animals, they are grain fed (should be grass fed),
subjected to antibiotics, immunizations, hormones and unhealthy living conditions, all of which affect the quality
of their meat. Besides taking away from the foods nutrition, these artificial additives are stressing and
loading our bodies with toxins.
Vitamins are organic substances that act as coenzymes (enablers) and regulators of metabolic
processes. Vitamins are essential to the normal functioning of our bodies, and except for a few exceptions, cannot
be made by our bodies. Adequate nutrition information is not stressed in our schools, by our health care
providers or media.
Vitamins are necessary for growth and vitality. There are 13 known vitamins (vitamins A, B1, B2,
niacin, pantothenic acid, B6, folic acid, B12, biotin, C, D, E, and K).
The ability to provide our bodies with sufficient vitamins is critical to our overall health and
well-being as it is impossible to sustain life without all the essential vitamins. Optimum nutrition gives
our bodies everything they need for optimal health. Super nutrition vitamins ensure nutrition wellness.
In the past mankind obtained all of our vitamins from our diet, as we primarily consumed naturally
ripened fresh fruit and vegetables. Today, however, that has changed dramatically, as we now consume a diet of ever
increasing amounts of processed foods that are seriously lacking in essential vitamins.
The problem is further complicated by the fact that many of the fruits and vegetables we do consume
are not fresh, nor have they been allowed to ripen naturally. Fruit in particular is often picked unripe from the
tree and ripened with ethylene gas before it is delivered to your store.
It has been estimated that the average artificially ripened fruits and vegetables purchased in
supermarkets today have less than 50% of the total vitamin content that our great-grandparents consumed 60 years
ago.
The reduction of the consumption of naturally occurring vitamins has lead to a wide range of
vitamin deficiency related health problems. These problems range from simply annoying (dry hair or hair falling
out), to extremely serious (Anemia, Beriberi, Pellagra, Rickets and Scurvy).
While most vitamin deficiencies do not occur overnight, most can be corrected by
supplementing with a top quality vitamin supplement.
We are continually amazed at the fact that while many doctors will advise their patients to take a
vitamin supplement to correct a deficiency problem that has occurred, very few of them seem to be aware of the
powerful preventative effects that vitamins have on the body. This is probably due to the fact that no
pharmaceutical drug company representitive will ever visit doctors to convince them to prescribe vitamins, as they
cannot make their exorbitant profit levels on vitamin products.
The average person today has two choices when it comes to obtaining optimum amounts of vitamins.
They can either obtain and eat enough organically grown, naturally ripened fresh fruit and vegetables or take a top
quality vitamin supplement on a daily basis. Very few people have the first option available so
supplementation makes the most sense.
